A New Website That Makes Sense of Term Life Insurance

After going through the somewhat confusing experience of purchasing term life insurance, I've decided to launch a new website Term Life Insurance Quotes and Advice. It's designed to help you make the best choices when you buy a term policy, whether you are buying one online or working with an insurance agent.

Term life insurance is considered to be a simple product. But when you start to look into purchasing a policy, you find that the choice of a term and the level of insurance you should buy involves some tricky choices. The new website discusses some of the things I have learned in buying insurance for myself, and I hope it helps guide you to getting a policy that is neither to much or too little for your family's financial needs.

Why to Plan Out Your Master's Degree While You're Still in College

Getting both a bachelor's degree and a master's can be a great career booster, or it can be six years of wasted work. It all depends on how well you've figured out if the master's degree will actually be more valuable than simply working on the job for two more years, and how well you plot out a course to make sure you are able to finish your studies. Without taking a good look ahead while you're still in the early stages of your bachelor's degree studies, you can easily get locked into a degree path that will cost you lots of time and money, but not necessarily produce the career boost you want.

Some keys to consider include special combo BA and MS programs that can give you a master's in half the normal time, education financing options like employer tuition assistance (that tend to be more open to grad degree students) and the importance of things like professional licensure and certification that may add another layer of work even after you've completed your master's. Here's a full rundown of why and how to plan out your graduate degree while you are still in college.

Everything You Need To Know To Get Through Your Education Degree Program

Studying to become a teacher involves learning about specific subjects you want to actually teach, but also broader topics like psychology that you'll need to have expertise in to handle a classroom effectively. To get yourself well-positioned for a teaching job, you also need to understand that a music teacher, for example, will need to know how to teach kids from kindergarten all the way up to middle school and also be able to teach band or orchestra. Add to that the fact that you need licensure to teach in more private and public schools, with different requirements to fulfill in each state, and you've got a pretty complicated path to navigate before you actually get up in front of a class for your first day as a professional teachers. Here, an education degree graduate explains the many teaching degree requirements you Nned to graduate in the field of education.

Fast Track Nursing Masters Degrees

The rise of RN to MSN "bridge" degree programs has presented an opportunity for some nurses to get a graduate degree more quickly than was previously possible, by combining bachelor's and master's level study in one program. These degree programs have varied admissions requirements, however. Some are for RNs with an associate's degree and some job experience, others will accept RNs with a diploma only and still others are designed for nurses who have a bachelor's degree - but in a non-nursing major.

The MSN can qualify a nurse to move up into a management position - something not generally available to those with a BSN only - or into advanced nursing categories like nurse education or nurse anesthetics. The length of time it takes to get an RN to MSN can vary anywhere from three to seven years, depending on whether it's done on a full-time or part-time basis. But for most students, this type of combo degree will make it possible to earn a master's a good deal more quickly than the traditional approach of going to college for four years to earn a bachelor's and then going to a grad school for an MSN. Here's an overview of RN to MSN online degrees.

Do you have to specialize when you get a bachelor's degree in business?

Most business students start out thinking that they'll get a general degree in college, and not worry about specializing until they go for an MBA later on. But there are lots of opportunities to specialize your business studies before you even finish college, which can be a good way to get you headed into a specific job that's of interest to you. Colleges are now offering bachelor's and even associate's degrees in marketing, finance, human resources and other specialties that were once offered only in graduate school.

Sometimes it's a good idea to start thinking about what kind of position is right for your personality and goals earlier rather than later. If you're interested in getting a leg up by specializing your busines studies before you get out of college, check out these guides on:

Some quotations on Christian ministry

I'm not a very devout religious person. But in the process of doing an article about some Christian colleges and universities recently, I started to collect quotations on religious ministry. I must admit I enjoyed pausing for a moment to read up a bit on spiritual issues rather than always chasing the latest news story.

In any case, I collected a specialized group of quotes on the challenges of being a pastor or minister, a job that can pay little and involve a ton of work. Check out these inspirational quotes on Christian ministry

Catholic Colleges Grow Online

Catholic colleges were not exactly trainblazers during the early days of the online learning revolution. But now some of them are starting to catch up, by offering a select group of online degree programs. The schools, most of which are quite old and enjoy at least a bit of a national reputation, aren't cheap, but they're a whole lot more reasonable than most private schools.

Catholic colleges generally make a point of keeping a strong focus on ethics and on helping others in all their programs. This message is maintained in online programs by the inclusion of certain courses in all curricula. But in truth, the Catholic message is probably a bit less strongly delivered to online students than to those on-campus. In any case, Catholic schools have always been quite welcoming to non-Catholic students. It's worth taking a look at some of the Catholic online colleges and universities here in North America.

Criminal Justice Degree Specialties

Increasingly, people who want to go into criminal justice look to a degree program that is specialized in a particualr skill set. Pursuing an expertise in criminology, forensics or even international law enforcement is one potential way of separating yourself from the pack when you go job hunting. There's little downside to this kind of specialization, because even the most targeted bachelor degree programs generally include a broad base of liberal arts and general criminal justice courses that are transferrable to many different types of jobs. Here's an up to date list of some of the specialized criminal justice degrees you can get online.

Prefer an online degree from a non-profit college?

With various criticisms being made against the student recruiting tactics of large for-profit schools, you might want to check out some of the online degree offerings in the non-profit school sector. It includes state universities, community colleges, private schools and even Catholic and Evangelical schools, all of whom have made big moves into online teaching. Some of the largest online degree schools, in fact, are actually among these non-profits.
